When the phone rings, the reality of mass displacement suddenly becomes heartbreakingly concrete. Children call to find their parents, mothers call to find medicine for their child, and families call looking for a place to sleep. Through a free helpline, Iraq’s Internally Displaced Persons Information Centre can provide life-saving information to the people who need it most.

But current hostilities within Iraq threaten to displace over a million more people. As the situation on the ground continues to deteriorate, the helpline needs to be ready to connect them to humanitarian information.
